About Mzee Kambui

Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mzee Kambui is an urban abstract photographer, independent film director, journalist, and community activist whose work focuses on the people and stories of the city. He is the founder of Abstract World Media and Zaezworld Productions and the owner of AnkhLife LLC.
Kambui has worked as an independent film director and as a television and live show production assistant, contributing more than 600 hours of production experience across live events and streaming broadcasts. His photography and film projects explore texture, movement, and resilience in communities in and around Philadelphia.
As a screenwriter, Kambui is in production on his first feature film, Apartment of the Dead, and is developing the feature documentary Vita Saana: The African Martial Arts Documentary. His work spans still photography, narrative film, and nonfiction storytelling.
Kambui holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Film from Full Sail University and is a graduate student in New Media Journalism. Through Abstract World Media, Zaezworld Productions, and AnkhLife LLC, he continues to document and amplify stories from the communities he serves in and around Philadelphia.
